Chimney, Firebox & Hearth Repairs
The firebox, hearth and chimney contain and direct the heat and smoke created in the fireplace. The hearth is the floor of the fireplace, upon which the logs are set, the firebox are the vertical walls surrounding the logs and the chimney is the vertical tunnel that communcates between the firebox and the outside. All three components of the fireplace are exposed to tremendous heat and, over time, these components may develops cracks, or loss of seals, through which heat and embers may pass.
Most deteriortation in the fireplace components can be corrected through repair. A quality repair will last many years, while a sloppy repair or a repair using cheap or improper materials, may fail immediately, resulting in a serious safety hazard.
